About The Crackington Cider Company
Producers of artisan, small batch, award winning Cornish ciders
Jon and Sam started the Crackington Cider Co. from their home in Cornwall in 2011, located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, just one mile above Crackington Haven, with its beautiful beach, and welcoming cafes and pub.
It all started with a gift of 30 cider apple trees from Jon's Dad, Eddie. The orchard now has over 1100 cider apple trees. Jon has focused on the conservation of Cornish and vintage quality West Country cider apples, many of which he grafted from cuttings due to their rarity. To ensure a perfect balance of sweet, bittersweet, sharp and bitter sharp apples 30 varieties are grown including Rattler, Lord of the Isles, Captain Broad, Collogett Pippin and Dabinett. Apples are pressed, fermented and bottled in the Cidery, which we built in 2017. The ciders are slow matured in stainless steel fermentation vats for 9-12 months to develop a full clean character. All of our ciders are vegan and gluten free. We care deeply about the environment and do not use any pesticides on the orchard. We also keep bees to help with pollination of the apple trees.
Visit our onsite cider shop and outside tasting bar, where you are most welcome to come and sample our 'Taste of the West' award-winning ciders and explore the Cidery.
Black Cat Shop
Outdoor Shop and Tasting Bar
Come and sample our delicious, award winning, ciders at the new Black Cat Cider Bar and shop.
It would have been difficult to implement social distancing in our compact shop in the cidery so we have created the Black Cat Cider Bar so that you can stay safe whilst tasting our ciders in the outdoors.
We built the Black Cat Cider Bar from reclaimed building materials left over from fencing the orchard, re-roofing our long barn, replacing our wood store and other building projects.
The Black Cat Cider Bar is 100% hand crafted: Just like our ciders!
Hope to see you for a tasting soon.
